WCI programmes are derived from the Seven (7) Pillars of concern that habitually affect the life of widows within our communities.

The Seven (7) Pillars of WCI are designed for ensuring that widows lives within communities effectively do address and transform their lives mentally, economically, physically, socially and spiritually by enabling them have access to resources.

They are;

1 – WEN (Widows Education Needs)

Designed for empowering widows within communities as widows often face unique challenges that can be mitigated through targeted education and support programs like Vocational and Skills Training, Social Support and Community Integration among others.

By addressing most of these educational needs, widows can enhance their resilience and effectively navigate the challenges they face within their communities.

2 – WIN (Widows Investment Network)

 Designed for establishing a dedicated investment network for widows that address their unique financial challenges and empowers them to achieve greater financial security.

Ensuring achievement of tailored financial education, enhanced financial security, access to resources and support. Focusing on investment network that addresses specific financial needs for widows within communities, offering them education, resources, community support and strategies to enhance financial security. Thus, empowerment them through Community networks.

3 – WHOM (Widows Health Operation Mechanism)

For ensuring that widows’ health within communities receive comprehensive programmes that address their physical, mental, emotional and social well-being.

Designing and implementing mechanisms that create a supportive environment which address diverse health needs of widows, promoting their overall well-being and integration into the community.

4 – WRAP (Widows Resistance Against Poverty)

Establishing mechanisms that widows can use to resist and overcome poverty within their communities. Instruments that involve a combination of individual strategies, community support and policy advocacy to help widows become more economically independent and socially empowered. Key mechanisms:

  • Access to Technology and Market Information
  • Agricultural Livelihoods and Sustainable Farming
  • Building Resilience through Diversification
  • Entrepreneurship and Small-Scale Business Ventures
  • Group Savings and Microfinance Initiatives
  • Peer Support and Community Networks
  • Social Safety Nets, Welfare Programs and Skills Development

Supporting widows focus on economic empowerment, access to resources and legal protections capable of building resilience and contributing to their communities while ensuring their own well-being and that of their families. Effectually, focusing on economic development initiatives that empower them, enhance their resilience and improve their quality of life within their communities.

5 – WATER (Widows Agricultural Techniques for Environmental Restoration)

Enhancing widows sustainable farming techniques that not only restore the land but also ensure long-term productivity. Agricultural methods that help conserve natural resources, improve soil health and increase resilience to climate change. Agricultural techniques that assist widows in restoring their environment while also improving their livelihoods such as;

6 – WILLS (Widows Involvement in Legal and Lawful Systems)

For ensuring that Widows are actively engaged with legal and lawful systems to protect their rights, seek justice and contributing to their societal change. Addressing key areas of;

  • Legal Education and Awareness
  • Participation in Legal Processes
  • Access to Land and Property Rights and
  • Creating awareness for widows greater understanding of Child Protection Act

7 –  WULD (Widows Unlimited if Living with Disability)

Designing programmes that enable communities to empower disabled widows participate fully in community life and contribute to local development. Projects that Integrate and allow them have access to education, economic empowerment, legal protection, healthcare and social support where disabled widows can become active agents of change within their communities.
